WHAT THE ROLE DELIVERS
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Indirect Buyer to support our site operations with strategic procurement expertise. In this role, you’ll lead sourcing activities—from managing tenders and negotiating contracts to ensuring timely, high-quality procurement solutions. You’ll collaborate across departments and with suppliers to drive value, efficiency, and innovation in every purchase. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Site Procurement Support
- Serve as the primary procurement contact for assigned Röhm America sites, independently processing purchase requests.
- Manage the procurement of MRO items, services, and small capital project equipment in alignment with the Procurement Policy.
- Utilize SAP for daily procurement transactions, including:

- Converting electronic purchase requests into purchase orders
- Maintaining supplier contracts, info records, outline agreements, vendor creation, and source lists
- Select vendors from the approved supplier list (via Sourcing Management and Integrity Next) based on capability and compliance with specifications.
- Ensure all suppliers meet insurance and safety documentation requirements.
- Conduct tenders independently for purchases under $100K; support the Sourcing Manager for tenders exceeding $100K.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Support
- Engage daily with site personnel, other buyers, Accounts Payable, Procurement leadership, and external suppliers/contractors.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies using Invoice Track.
- Provide SAP training and troubleshooting support to end users.
- Act as the procurement process expert and single point of contact for assigned sites.
- Train internal customers on procurement tools (e.g., IVT, CrowdFox) and promote their effective use in daily operations.
WHAT WE ARE SEEKING
- Bachelor’s degree, or minimum 2 years in college as well as 1-3 years’ purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills required
- Competency in using Microsoft Office Suite required, particularly Word and Excel
- Ability to multi task in fast paced plant environment
- Proven team work and problem solving skills
- Self-motivated contributor with the ability to work independently through managed objectives
- Comfortable with a high-volume, processing role
- Knowledge of SAP Materials Management module preferred
- It is preferred to have a knowledge of business law, accounting principles, state tax laws, "Occupational Safety & Health Act" (OSHA), "Environmental Protection Agency" (EPA) and state licensing regulations, as well as, a basic understanding of Quality Management Systems and their development.
Languages: English proficiency required.
