WHAT THE ROLE DELIVERS
At the direction of the Technical Manager, provide Maintenance supervision, scheduling, parts and inventory supply management, and work order support for Röhm Bay City Maintenance requirements. Compile information enabling the planning and scheduling of all routine and shutdown work with Röhm Bay City Operations. Improve the efficiency of plant maintenance and construction through the pre-determination of manpower, material, time, tools, and equipment.
Additionally manage the activities of all site maintenance partners including onsite tenants (OQ, Celanese, etc.) and the full complement of outside maintenance resources / contractors for all trades. The position is responsible for ensuring maintenance services meet all Röhm company goals and customer expectations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Work closely with the Technical Manager to design and execute the organization’s annual maintenance plan.
- Supervision and coordination for incumbent Maintenance Technicians and 3rd party contractors including safety, work assignment, work quality, work completion, and materials management.
- Develop and understand KPI’s and other maintenance efficiency measurements to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage and track open work orders (backlog) to ensure fulfillment. Create corrective work notifications in SAP for all production equipment.
- Communicate directly with service providers, vendors, and site Maintenance representatives to schedule repairs, perform preventive maintenance (PM’s), and ensure project completion.
- Ensure parts and supplies inventory management excellence.
- Measure Schedule and Craft Hour Compliance and monitor Maintenance Costs.
- Assist Technical Manager to develop a comprehensive maintenance budget and coordinate payment for services and equipment with Röhm Accounts Payable.
- Facility implementation of “best practices” Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) using new technology initiatives.
- Develop the plant maintenance schedule using Primavera.
- Measure Work Notification total cycle time to completion.
- Manage Plant Shutdowns and Turnarounds.
- Track and measure the PM programs to ensure Preventative Maintenance (PM's) are completed per schedule.
- Additional duties as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE SEEKING
- Bachelor’s or more advanced degree in Chemical, Mechanical or a related discipline with a minimum of 7 years of experience in plant maintenance in a chemical manufacturing environment. Experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Experience supervising Maintenance Technicians and Craft workers and the coordination of 3rd party contractors including nested personnel (15-25 FTEs) and turnaround personnel (> 100 FTEs).
- Must have experience in MRO inventory management and procurement in SAP.
- Experience managing maintenance budgets of $10 million or more.
- Proficient with Power BI, Primavera, SAP and MS Office applications.
- Proficiency in Maintenance Excellence KPI’s. Understanding and mastery of OEE required.
- Knowledge of and ability to read material specifications.
- Ability to interface and collaborate with Site Leadership, Production, ESH, Engineering, and site tenant resources.
- Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail.
- Must be able to read and understand written information in English.
- Ability to understand and comply with Röhm safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing environment with proper PPE including respirators and chemical resistant clothing.
- Must be able to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, elevated walkways, and walk, stand, stoop for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds.
- This position will follow a standard weekly schedule, however availability for weekend and holiday coverage during shut downs and critical use periods may be required
- Languages: English proficiency required. Additional languages are advantageous.
